The Respiratory Therapy Department at John H. Stroger Jr. Hospital of Cook County is a 24-hour a day service of the hospital that is a part of the Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine within the Department of Medicine. Illinois State licensed and nationally credentialed respiratory therapists staff its services. Respiratory therapists are essential members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team who work in collaboration with the physicians and nurses to provide compassionate, high-quality care to all areas of the hospital. Our division has affiliations with Respiratory Therapy programs in Chicago which provides the students with excellent learning opportunities in one of the many critical care units and the emergency department.
